We ask for as little information as we can and use it only for the purposes described below. We do not sell personal information.

Payment card details are not collected or stored by this website. Where a deposit or balance payment is required, it is handled by a third-party payment provider or arranged directly with our reservations team.

We use the information described above to respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal; to confirm, administer and deliver your reservation; to arrange the services you request during a stay, such as transfers, provisioning, private chefs or excursions; to keep records of our dealings with guests; to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations; and to protect the security of the property, our guests and this website.
We will only send you marketing communications if you have asked to receive them, and every such message includes a way to unsubscribe. Withdrawing consent to marketing does not affect our ability to contact you about a reservation you have made.
Legal grounds for processing
Where data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on: the steps necessary to enter into and perform a booking contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the estate and this website; your consent, where we have asked for it; and compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject.
Sharing your information

Promontorio is located in Costa Rica and many of our guests enquire from elsewhere, so your information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from countries other than your own. Where we transfer information internationally we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described in this policy.

How long we keep information
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer it and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return to us. Reservation and payment records are kept for the longer of the period required by Costa Rican tax and accounting law or the period during which a legal claim could be brought. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections to this website and restricting access to guest records to staff who need it. No website or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and any transmission is at your own risk.

Where a booking includes children, their details are provided by the adult making the reservation.
